Migori sits in the former Nyanza region. It borders Homa Bay to the north, Kisii to the northeast, Narok to the southeast, Tanzania to the south and west, and Lake Victoria to the west.
Migori Town, about 368 km from Nairobi, on the A1 road that runs on to the Isebania border post with Tanzania.
Farming is the mainstay — maize, cassava, sweet potatoes, sugarcane and tobacco — with fishing, small-scale gold mining and cross-border trade beside it.
Luo, Kuria, Suba, Abagusii and other communities. Major towns include Migori, Rongo, Awendo, Kehancha and Isebania.

Early childhood centres and vocational training for a county where nearly half the people are under 15.

Kenya votes on the second Tuesday of August every fifth year. The next General Election is Tuesday 10 August 2027.
In Migori that ballot includes the President, the Governor and Deputy Governor on one ticket, the Senator, the County Woman Representative, a Member of the National Assembly in each of the eight constituencies, and a Member of the County Assembly in each of the 40 wards.
